I've always wondered something. People tell me that Shadow the Hedgehog sucks because he doesn't fit in with any of the other "cutesy" characters. They don't like him because they think Sonic doesn't need a "mysterious" anti-hero.
Enter MetaKnight, who existed long before Shadow. He appears in SSBBrawl, and all of a sudden, "ZOMG metaknight's in brawl! Me wants to pley him hes soooooo badass!"

Wait a second, I thought mysterious antiheroes in cutesy cartoonish games were bad. What makes MetaKnight an exception?

"cuz hes gut a sord fool!!"

Shadow can bend reality to destructive ends using the power of the Chaos Emeralds. I don't see how you can overlook that in favor of MetaKnight's sword.
But in any case, MetaKnight is another "dark and enigmatic" antihero in a cast of cutesy cartoon characters, JUST LIKE SHADOW. Yet everyone loves MetaKnight. And they hate Shadow. I have NEVER figured out why.
And what about Bass from Megaman? He's the same way, but you'd never hear a bad word against him from GameInformer.

Maybe I'm just thinking too much.
